On April 19, 2026, at 6:36 am, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a severe injury at a residence on Old Nash Road, in Seward. Seward resident, 29-year-old Benjamin Miranda, was transported to a local hospital where he was declared deceased. Next of kin has been notified. There is no danger to the public. This is an active and ongoing investigation.

On 04/20/2026, at approximately 0126 hours, AST was advised of a single vehicle motor vehicle collision at approximately mile 15 North Tongass, AST Responded. Investigation on scene revealed that the driver of the vehicle, Chelsea Favazzo, a 28 year old of Ketchikan had committed the crime of DUI and she was arrested and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center.

On 4/20/2026 at approximately 1613 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a reported domestic assault at a residence off of Adkins Road in Sterling. Investigation revealed Curtis John Parker, age 35 of Sterling had assaulted multiple members of the household. He was arrested for Assault 3rd Domestic Violence, two counts Assault 4th Domestic Violence and Assault in the Presence of a Child. He was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility and held with no bail pending arraignment.

On April 14, 2026, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a deceased individual in Chistochina. Troopers arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. The deceased was identified as Freddy Nicolai, age 74, of Chistochina. The death appeared to be from natural causes, and no foul play was suspected. Next of kin has been notified.

On April 20, 2026, AST responded to a disturbance on Glasgow Drive in Fairbanks. Investigation revealed that a crime of criminal mischief in the third degree was committed. One individual was taken into custody and remanded at the Fairbanks Correctional Facility. The investigation is still ongoing.

On April 19, 2026, at 5:00 am, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a shooting that occurred at a residence near the Parks Highway and Chena Pump Road. Investigation revealed that four suspects forced entry into the residence and assaulted a single adult male. Esai Joseph, a 19-year-old Fairbanks resident, shot the victim. A second adult suspect, 20-year-old Fairbanks resident Margaret Vent, drove the car in which the four suspects fled. Troopers later apprehended the four suspects in a different neighborhood. Two of the suspects are juveniles who were remanded to Fairbanks Youth Facility, one of them on charges of Attempted Assault in the 1st Degree and Burglary in the 1st Degree, and the other on charges of Burglary in the 1st Degree and Assault in the 4th Degree. Esai Joseph was charged with Assault in the 1st Degree and Burglary in the 1st Degree. Margaret Vent was charged with Attempted Assault in the 1st Degree and Burglary in the 1st Degree. Both were remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center. The victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

On 4-20-26 at approximately 1345 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance at the Clarkson Apartments. Investigation showed that Julianna Nicholson, age 28 of Fairbanks had assaulted another. Nicholson was arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center on the charge of Assault in the fourth degree.

On 4-19-26 AST stopped a vehicle on Chena Hot Springs Road for a moving violation. Maddox Watts, a 20-year-old soldier from Ft. Wainwright, was subsequently arrested for DUI. After spitting in the patrol car, Watts refused to give a sample of his breath. Watts was remanded to FCC for DUI and Refusal.

On 04/18/2026 at approximately 11:52 pm, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of an unresponsive male at mile 6 of the Dalton Highway. Investigations showed that the man had a medical emergency while working on his vehicle. A good Samaritan attempted lifesaving measures, but was unsuccessful. Diana Ives was arrested and remanded to FCC.

On 4/20/2026 at approximately 1250 hours, 45 year old Anchorage resident Shrikaa Mills was contacted at the Nesbett Court house. Investigation revealed Mills had an outstanding Anchorage warrant, 3AN-26-01337CR. FTA pre-trial Conference on the original charge of Criminal Trespass 2d, Mills was transported to Anchorage Jail and remanded on her warrant. Bail was set as indicated on the warrant of $500 Cash.
