On 4/7/2025, at approximately 0540 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of welfare check on the Glenn Hwy near Old Glenn Hwy in Palmer. AST responded to the scene. AST contacted Caleb Mailly, age 38 of Anchorage. Investigation revealed that Caleb was not SOR compliant. Caleb was arrested for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in the 2nd degree. Caleb was transported to Matsu Pretrial, where he was remanded and released on OR.

On 04/07/2025 at approximately 1330 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to Career Tech High School in Wasilla after the school reported they obtained information that a student had a handgun in their vehicle in the parking lot. Troopers located a handgun with an altered serial number as well as marijuana products that were packaged for sale. Investigation led to the arrest of a 17-year-old Wasilla male for Misconduct Involving a Weapon III & IV and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV, V, & VI. The juvenile was remanded to the Dept of Juvenile Justice.

On 04/01/2025 AST received a report of an MVC that took place on the Parks Hwy in between Air Port Way and Giest Rd exit. Driver stated he lost control due to road conditions and collided with a light pole. Driver was able to drive his vehicle away. DOT was notified of the down light pole. No one was injured.

On 04/02/2025 AST arrived on Amherst Drive and contacted Colleen Jonas for her outstanding warrant for her arrest. Her warrant was for failure to appear with $1500 bail with 100% posting. Colleen was contacted inside her residence and placed under arrest. She was then transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

On April 7th, 2025, Troopers conducted a traffic stop on William Barlow after observing poor driving behavior and a broken tail light. Upon contact, an open container of whiskey was seen in the vehicle, and William admitted to drinking earlier in the evening. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and provided a PBT sample and a DataMaster sample. William was arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks correctional Center.

Location: KodiakType: Misconduct Involving a Controlled SubstanceDispatch Text:
On 03/31/25, the Alaska State Troopers Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) in Kodiak, conducted an investigation into the trafficking of cocaine by Nathaniel Scott Newman (52) and Whitney Sands (40) of Kodiak. Members from the Kodiak Police Department, Coast Guard Investigative Service, Alaska State Troopers and Wildlife Troopers assisted.
The subsequent investigation led to multiple search warrant executions involving Newman which led to the seizure of approximately 10.2lbs of cocaine, $21,170 in cash, and items used in the sale of controlled substances. The street value of the cocaine if sold by Newman in Kodiak was approximately $463,400.
Newman and Sands were remanded at Kodiak Jail for Misconduct Involving Controlled substances in the 3rd degree.
The overall investigation is on-going at this time.
