On July 20, 2025, at 5:00 am, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a two-vehicle collision near milepost 154 of the Sterling Highway. The report stated that one person was still trapped inside a vehicle. EMS and AST responded to the scene. The trapped female driver was extricated and taken to an area hospital. The other vehicle was a pickup truck occupied by five people who were all uninjured. Based on the tire marks on the pavement, it appeared that the northbound car had crossed into the southbound lane and impacted the southbound truck. Investigation is still ongoing.

On 7/20/2025, at approximately 1954 hours, Seward AST conducted a traffic stop on a SUV driving south on the Seward Highway at approximately mile 45. Investigation led to the arrest of the driver, Tasha Mockta, age 29 of Anchorage, for DUI, Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Reckless Driving, and Refusal to provide a PBT sample (Implied Consent). Mockta was transported to Wildwood Pretrial Facility in Kenai where she was held without bail pending arraignment.

On 07/21/2025 at approximately 2136 hours, while in the Houston area AST recognized a passenger in a vehicle as Justin Corns. Justin was placed under arrest for his active felony warrant and received an additional charge of Escape in the 3rd degree for removing his electronic monitoring device. Justin was transported to MSPT, where he was remanded and held without bail.

On 7/2025 at 22:24 Alaska State Troopers received report of a disturbance at on West Maplewood Dr. in Big Lake. Investigation resulted in Ryan Groff (25) being arrested for Assault 3 and Assault in the Presence of a Child. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial without bail.

On 7/20/25, at approximately 2048 hours, AST received a report of a motor vehicle collision near Mile 9 Knik River Rd. It was reported that a single vehicle rolled and was upside down in the ditch. AST responded and investigation revealed Kayla Chapman age 35, of Palmer was driving while under the influence of alcohol. Chapman was arrested for Felony DUI and remanded to MSPT where her bail was set at no bail.

On 7/20/2025 at approximately 2353 hours, AST received a report of a single vehicle collision near the intersection of Trunk & Fireweed. Investigation revealed that Michael Robinson, 23 YOA, was operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Video evidence of the crash revealed that Michael collided with the roundabout, causing his vehicle to go airborne. Michael was arrested and remanded to MSPT, where he was held on $500.

Location: FairbanksType: DUI/RefusalDispatch Text:
On 07/21/2025 at approximately 0411 hours, Troopers observed an SUV traveling 60 MPH in a 40 MPH zone on University Avenue in Fairbanks. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was identified as Luis Santana. Troopers detected the odor of alcohol and observed unopened Twisted Teas in the vehicle. Santana initially denied drinking but later admitted to consuming two beers about an hour prior. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, and Santana exhibited multiple clues of impairment. He refused a Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) on scene and later refused to provide a breath sample on the DataMaster at the post, despite being advised of the legal requirement. He was remanded to FCC for DUI and Refusal.

On July 21, 2025, Alaska State Trooper's conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Andrew John Buck. Investigation revealed that Buck was driving while impaired. Buck refused to submit to a chemical test as required. Additionally, he was transporting multiple rifles inside his vehicle. He was ultimately remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.

On July 21, 2025, at approximately 1610 hours Alaska State Troopers in Tok contacted Cortney Brinkman, age 28 of Tok. Investigation revealed that Brinkman was in violation of her conditions of release in 4TO-24-00075CR. Brinkman was placed under arrest and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center on one count of Violating Conditions of Release and one count of Unlawful Contact in the First Degree.

On 7/20/25 Tok Wildlife Troopers cited Scott Lindquist, age 65, of Palmer, Raney Hardman, age 60, of Eagle River and Joseph Lindquist, age 31, of Eagle River for failing to record fish as required by permit conditions in a personal use fishery. Bail for fail to record was set at $120, for each fisherman, in the Kenai District Court. Joseph Lindquist was also cited for take over limit of salmon. Bail for take over limit of salmon for Joseph is $260 in the Kenai District Court.

Norheim, Commercial Dungeness permit holder aboard the F/v Hood Point was found to be in possession of undersize Dungeness crab and utilized Dungeness crab pots that did not meet the requirement for escape rings. Arraignment is set for August 13th in the Petersburg District Court.

On July 20, 2025, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks received a report from a hiker who stated he was hiking the Upper Chena Dome Trail and had gotten lost, run out of food and water and was exhausted. Troopers advised him to stay where he was and launched Helo 2 to rescue him and transport him to his vehicle at the trailhead. The hiker was uninjured and refused medical attention.

On July 18, 2025, at 9:00 am, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a sexual assault in Pilot Station. Investigation revealed that Jaron Paul, age 29 of Pilot Station, repeatedly sexually assaulted a teenage minor female inside a vehicle while threatening the victim if she did not comply. The victim was able to contact a VPO who came to the vehicle and helped her escape. Paul was arrested and charged with three counts of Sexual Assault 1, three counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor 2, Coercion, Assault 3 and Assault 4.
