Troopers searched and flew the area but did not locate anyone or any signs of a plane crash. On 7/1/25 at 0300 hours Alaska State Troopers stopped a vehicle near Circle K in Meadow Lakes for an equipment violation. The driver Justin Keel was found to have an active warrant for Fail to Comply with Conditions original charge of MICS 5. Justin was remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial and held on $500 cash bail.

On July 1, 2025, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance in Emmonak. Nicholas Tucker Jr. shot a juvenile inside a home. Troopers and VPSO responded and provided first aid while they awaited medical care. The juvenile will be medevaced to an Anchorage hospital and is expected to survive. Tucker was remanded on multiple charges, including assault, misconduct involving weapons and assault in the presence of a minor.

On June 30, 2025, Alaska State Troopers received an SOS activation reporting a boat with multiple people aboard ran aground on a sand bar on the Kuskokwim River near Tuntutuliak. Strong winds and rain prevented a local rescue group from reaching the area. A Bethel-based Air Guard helicopter crew, assisted by AST, located the stranded boaters. Rescuers waded through waist-deep water to reach the boat and help the group to the helicopter. All six people aboard the boat were transported to a Bethel hospital and received treatment for hypothermia.

On 6-29-25 at about 0300 hours a group of mailboxes at the intersection of Nordale and Cloverleaf Drive were struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene. The vehicle likely has extensive damage to the undercarriage and front end. The vehicle lost all engine oil within 100 yards of the crash. Debris on scene indicates that the vehicle is likely a Chevy. Anyone having information on a vehicle with matching damage is encouraged to contact AST in Fairbanks at (907)451-5100.

Troopers responded and identified the woman as Allison Tritt-Panigeo. Allison was arrested for Disorderly Conduct after being provided warnings and disregarding them, and was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center for Disorderly Conduct and Violating Conditions of Release.

On the evening of June 30, 2025, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a suspected intoxicated driver near Pike’s Waterfront Lodge. The caller reported that their vehicle had been struck by another driver who then fled the scene. Troopers located both vehicles on South University Avenue and identified the driver of the suspect vehicle as Heather Wheeler, age 44 of Wasilla. After the investigation, Heather was arrested for DUI and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

On 06/28/25 the Eagle Village VPSO was notified of a burglary and the theft of multiple firearms from a residence along the Taylor Highway. An investigation by the VPSO office and the Tok area State Troopers resulted in the arrest of Nazray Black for one count of Burglary 1, three counts of Theft 2, one count of theft 3 and one count of Criminal Trespass 1. Black was remanded to FCC. Identical charges were forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for charging determination on a separate individual. The Eagle Village VPSO would like to extend a thank you to all of the citizens who called with tips during the investigation.

Over the following weekend, the Alaska Wildlife Troopers increased patrols in the Copper River Personal Use area in Chitina. Troopers made contact with over 150 fishermen. Of those contacts, 17 warnings were given, and a total of 24 citations were issued for various violations ranging from not having a personal use permit in possession, failing to mark salmon before concealing them, transporting and concealing salmon without recording them on permits, and traffic violations. The Alaska Wildlife Troopers want to remind Personal Use Fishermen to take the extra moment to immediately mark and record their caught salmon prior to concealing them in coolers, or out of plain sight. Please refer to the regulations that are printed on all the Personal Use Permits. Also, a reminder that if you are fishing in an area that may not have good cellular connection for the mobile app, to print the permit prior to fishing so you can immediately record your catch or display your permits and licenses when requested.
