On 07/24/2025 at about 0502 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a Motor Vehicle Collision at mile 8 of the North Tongass Highway. AST and North Tongass Volunteer Fire Department (NTVFD) responded to the scene. Investigation revealed that the driver Christopher Cluchey, age 37 of Ketchikan was operating his 2013 Ford Fusion northbound on the North Tongass Highway when he fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle drove into the ditch, ran over a mailbox and ultimately collided with a rockwall. Both Cluchey was the passenger sustained minor injuries. The passenger was transported by NTVFD to PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center ER for injury evaluation. It was reported that both occupants were not wearing a seatbelt. Cluchey was issued a traffic citation for Failure to Show Proof of Insurance. AST would like to thank that concerned citizens who notified AST of the accident and the NTVFD for their fast response and assistance.

On 07/24/2025 at about 2120 hours, the Alaska State Troopers stopped a maroon Dodge pick-up truck for a moving violation near the intersection of Shoup Street and the South Tongass Highway. Investigation revealed that the driver Anne Warren, age 35 of Ketchikan was operating a motor vehicle with no valid driver's license. Further investigation revealed that Warren also knowingly operated a motor vehicle with no required Motor vehicle Liability Insurance. Warren was ultimately issued a Summons for No Liability Motor Vehicle Insurance and a traffic citation for operating a motor vehicle with No Valid Operators License.

On 07/25/2025 at approximately 1808 hours, AST was dispatched to a report of a disturbance off of Palmer Fishhook Road. Upon investigation, it was determined that William Parkinson, 49, of Palmer, had broken property and was subsequently charged with Domestic Violence - Criminal Mischief V. William was arrested and remanded to MSPT, where he is held without bail.

Location: WasillaType: Fatal Vehicle CollisionDispatch Text:
On July 25, 2025, Alaska State Troopers were notified around 1 p.m. of a head-on collision near Mile 81 of the Parks Highway. The initial investigation showed a Kia Rio traveling southbound crossed the center line and struck a Honda Civic. Connal M. Dinsmore, 19 of Wasilla, was deceased at the scene. He was driving the Kia. Two people from the Honda were transported to a hospital with serious injuries. The highway closed during the investigation. Dinsmore’s next of kin were notified and his body will be transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.

On 7/24/2025 at approximately 2300, Alaska State Troopers were notified of an intoxicated individual with a rubber mallet causing a disturbance at a campground near the area of Point Mackenzie. When making contact with the individual, Jeremy Roehl, he showed numerous signs of intoxication, and was arrested for DUI and issued a citation.

On 07/25/25 at 01:04 AST, dispatch received a report of a disturbance in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Lillian Jacob of Wasilla had caused damage to a family member's residence and assaulted a family member. She was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial for Criminal Mischief 4 and Assault 4.

On 07/24/2025 at approximately 2350 hours, AST came into contact with Joshua Mullenix, 37, of Wasilla, while investigating an incident off Williwaw Way, Wasilla. Investigation revealed Joshua had an active warrant for Theft 3 and Criminal Trespass 1. Joshua was arrested and remanded to MSPT, where he is held on $250 bail and a Court-Approved 3rd Party prior to release.

UPDATE 4:30 pm: The pilot has been identified as 33-year-old Dillingham resident John Landsiedel. Next of kin notifications are complete.
ORIGINAL: On July 25, 2025, at around 9:15 am, Alaska State Troopers and Wildlife Troopers in Dillingham were notified of an aircraft crash at the Dillingham airport. Troopers responded and located a Piper J3C-65 Cub that had crashed on the airport’s runway. The pilot, and sole occupant, was declared deceased at the scene. Next of kin notifications for the adult male are in process. His body is being sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. The NTSB has been notified and will be responding to investigate the crash.

On July 25, 2025, at approximately 0211 hours, while conducting traffic enforcement, Alaska State Troopers observed a vehicle driving Southbound on University Ave without any of its head/taillights on. Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and, following an investigation, found the driver, Kevin Franks (39M), to be impaired by alcohol. Mr. Franks was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center for one count of DUI without further issue.

On 25 July 2025, at approximately 0023 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at University Ave and Davis Rd. Following an investigation, Sean Anderson (32M) was found to be impaired by alcohol at more than twice the legal limit. Sean was arrested and later remanded to FCC for one count of DUI without further issue.

On July 25, 2025 the Alaska State Troopers Criminal Suppression Unit ( CSU ) located Alexander Jura (age 36) at a residence on Ream ln. Jura had the following outstanding warrants for his arrest: (4FA-22-00699CR) failure to report to jail to serve sentence for Escape II and (4FA-25-0064CR) Assault 1, Misconduct Involving a Weapon 1, and Misconduct Involving a Weapon III.
Alaska State Troopers CSU and Patrol units surrounded Jura's residence while Helo II kept eyes on from the sky. Numerous callouts were made to Jura through the PA system. Eventually Jura exited the residence and surrendered without further incident. Jura was placed under arrest and subsequently remanded to FCC without bail.

On 07/25/2025 at 1351 hours AST received a report of multiple individuals trespassing at The Igloo, a building that looks like an igloo at Mile 188 Parks Highway. AST located and contacted the individuals in Cantwell. A misdemeanor summons for Criminal Trespass 2nd was issued to Aero Wilson, age 18 from Wasilla, the same charge will be forwarded to DJJ for a 17-year-old female as well. AST would like to remind the public that The Igloo is on private property, which is well marked, and the owner will be seeking prosecution for all trespassers. If the public should decide they want pictures of this Alaska icon they are asked to take the pictures from the road and not go past the gate.
