    On 5/9/2025, Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point responded to an address for a report of an assault. Subsequent investigation determined Albert Chaddock, 34 years old, had assaulted a family member and taken their phone to prevent them from calling 911. Chaddock was arrested and remanded to Homer Jail on 1x count Assault in the 4th degree and 1x count Interfering with a report of a crime involving domestic violence.

    On 05/09/2025 at about 1614 hours, Seward AST received a REDDI report in Cooper Landing. Seward AST conducted a traffic stop on the REDDI vehicle and identified the driver as Russell Nagel, 51 YOA of Soldotna. The investigation revealed that Russell was driving under the influence of drugs and was in possession of methamphetamine. Russell was placed under arrest for DUI and MICS. Russell was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial where he was later released on his own recognizance.

    On 5/9/2025, AST received multiple calls for a Welfare check on a Jerimiah Clark and about him causing a disturbance. When Jerimiah was located, an investigation revealed his actions and driving had placed family members in the vehicle at fear for their safety and wellbeing. Jerimiah was placed under arrest for 2 counts of Assault in the 3rd degree - DV, 2 counts of Reckless Endangerment - DV, and 2 counts of Assault in the presence of a child - DV. He was remanded to the Mat Su Pre-Trial facility and held on no bail.

    On 5/10/2025 AST was called to a disturbance in Palmer. Investigation revealed Justin Russel damaged property of another and placed a household member in fear of injury. He was arrested for Assault 4 DV and Criminal Mischief 4 DV. He was remanded to the Mat Su PreTrial facility and held without bail.

    Dispatch Text:

    On May 10th, 2025, at approximately 0930 hours, AST received a report of a traffic collision at Mile 129 of the Parks Highway. AST responded and identified 39-year-old Lucille Clemmons, of North Pole, as one of the drivers involved. Further investigation revealed that Lucille was under the influence of alcohol when the collision occurred. Lucille also had an active warrant for felonious DUI. Lucille was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial, where she was remanded without bail for Felony DUI.

    On 05/08/2025 at approximately 2200 hours Alaska State Troopers were dispatched to an address off of Heather Way in Wasilla for a report of a Disturbance.  Troopers arrived and contacted all parties involved.  Through investigation there was probable cause that Lukis Atwater (age 19) of Wasilla committed crimes of Criminal Mischief 4 and Criminal Mischief 5.  Lukis was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial and remanded.

    On 05/08/2025 at approximately 2345 hours Alaska State Troopers were dispatched to a residence in Houston for a report of a Disturbance. Investigation, Oleanna Pavella (age 39) of Houston had placed a household member in fear of imminent physical injury. Oleanna was arrested, transported, and remanded at Matsu pretrial where she was held with no bail.

    On 5/10/2025 at approximately 0430, AST received a call of a disturbance in the Wasilla area. Investigation revealed Alex Boyd (age 24), of Wasilla had assaulted a household member. Alex was arrested, transported and remanded at Matsu Pretrial on Charges of Assault 4 DV where he was held with no bail.

    On 05/10/2025 at approximately 1642 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a single vehicle motorcycle accident near Knik Goose Bay Rd. and Roseberry Loop.  The driver identified as Rick Shell, age 38, was transported to Mat-Su Regional Hospital for his injuries.

    Dispatch Text:

    On May 5th, 2025, Bethel Troopers received a report of a burglary from the Tuluksak Native Store.  Investigation revealed the store had been unlawfully entered four times during the night of May 3rd/4th. A store employee entered the store on 3 occasions, each time accessing the store safe and taking an amount of cash. A second, non-employee suspect, accompanied the employee on the 2nd and 3rd occasion, stealing cigarettes from the store while inside with the employee. On the 4th occasion, the non-employee suspect returned to the store with the employee's keys and brought a 15 y/o juvenile with him. While inside, the suspect attempted to access the safe, cash register, and allegedly took additional cigarettes while the juvenile accompanied him. All suspects were identified. Troopers responded to the village and placed David Liskey Jr., 26, under arrest for Burglary 2nd Degree and Theft 3rd Degree. Anthony Buzz Jr., 20, was also arrested for Burglary 2nd Degree, Theft 4th Degree, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Troopers will be referring charges to DJJ for the juvenile involved.

    On May 10, 2025, at approximately 1227 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a REDDI (Report Every Dangerous Driver immediately) Report in the area of the Parks Hwy and Sheep Creek for a vehicle that had hit a sign and was swerving. The vehicle was located and an investigation revealed that the driver, Tracy Pitts of Fairbanks, was under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, Ms. Pitts had a juvenile in the vehicle with her. Ms Pitts was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center for one count of DUI and Reckless Endangerment.

    On 05/9/2025 at approximately 1454, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a single motor vehicle rollover on Nordale Road. Troopers contacted Kerri Hickman, the operator of the vehicle, uninjured and under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Hickman was arrested for DUI and MIW 4 and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Facility.

    On May 9, 2025, at 10:26 pm, the Alaska State Troopers were conducting a welfare check on an adult female in the Meadow Lakes area after the female called 911 multiple times. When Troopers arrived at the residence, they made contact with the female at the front door of the house. The Trooper made multiple requests for the female to exit the residence with her hands empty; however, instead, she produced a handgun and pointed it at the Trooper. The Trooper shot the female as a result of her actions. The female was taken to a Mat-Su area hospital by EMS with life-threatening injuries. Upon further investigation, the firearm was determined to be a BB gun that did not have an orange tip and closely resembled a semiautomatic handgun. A photo of the BB gun is available here

    The Alaska Bureau of Investigation has assumed case responsibility and will thoroughly investigate the incident. Once their investigation is complete, it will be independently reviewed by the Alaska Office of Special Prosecutions. The Trooper who discharged their firearm has been placed on seven days of administrative leave in accordance with DPS policy; their name will be released in three days. The Trooper was equipped with a functioning body-worn camera during the incident.

    Dispatch Text:

    Update: On May 8, 2025, a Palmer Grand Jury indicted Casey Lorencz on two counts of manslaughter, two charges of criminally negligent homicide, reckless driving and driving under the influence for the fatal vehicle collision on January 18, 2025. Lorencz was located by Wasilla police and taken into custody on May 10.

    Original: On January 18, 2025, at 3:39 am, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of a vehicle collision at Vine Road and Hollywood Road in Wasilla. A preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford Sedan was traveling eastbound on Hollywood Road at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at the stop sign at Vine Road. The sedan collided with a Chevrolet SUV that was traveling southbound on Vine Road. A passenger in the SUV, 35-year-old Palmer resident Mark Carroll, was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the SUV was treated and released at the scene. The driver of the sedan was taken to a Mat-Su area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Carroll’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy, and his next of kin have been notified. The investigation continues.
