On 4/27/26 at approximately 1525 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted an arrest warrant service at an address near Raven Avenue in Ketchikan. Seth James, 23, of Ketchikan was arrested for Sexual Abuse of a minor in the 2nd degree and distributing indecent material to minors. James was then remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center, where he was held without bail.

Location: Anchor PointType: Burglary 1st degree, Theft 4th degreeDispatch Text:
On 4/26/26 at approximately 1132 hours, Anchor Point AST took the report of a suspicious person entering a residence on Kutafya Rd., just north of Anchor Point. Troopers contacted the registered owner of the property and confirmed no one is allowed to be there. The Trooper secured the outside of the residence and waited for an HPD officer on their way to assist. Once HPD arrived, law enforcement began clearing the inside of the residence. After approximately 25 minutes of searching the dwelling, the described suspect was found hiding beneath a pile of random household objects. The suspect was identified as Cerina P. Richards (29 YOA) of Anchor Point. Subsequent investigation and interviews lead to Richards being arrested for Burglary in the 1st degree and theft in the 4th degree. Richards was booked into Homer Jail without issue with no bail.

On 4/13/2026, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a Burglary on East End Road. Subsequent investigation led to Anchor Point residents Neil Arthur (40 years old) and Katie Tyrer (37 years old) being charged with multiple charges including Criminal Trespass, Burglary, and Vehicle Theft. Arrest warrants were issued and both parties were ultimately arrested and remanded to Homer Jail.

On April 26, 2026, at approximately 1606 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on the Sterling Highway near Kasilof. Investigation revealed Gary Koski, age 67 of Soldotna, committed the crime of DUI. He was arrested and remanded at the Wildwood Correctional Complex.

On April 24, 2026, Alaska State Troopers responded to a disturbance on Winch Avenue in Fairbanks. The investigation determined that Ahren Jones damaged a vehicle with a hammer and attempted to pull the victim from the vehicle, causing minor injury. Jones admitted to breaking the vehicle’s windows. He was arrested for Assault in the Fourth Degree and Criminal Mischief and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

On 04/26/2026, Troopers contacted Isiah Chestnut at a weigh station after observing his vehicle with a flat tire. A female passenger was identified, a protected party he was ordered not to contact under active conditions of release. On April 25, 2026, Alaska State Troopers responded to Iniakuk Avenue after receiving a report that a truck had collided with mailboxes and the driver appeared impaired. Troopers contacted Daniel Morris, who showed signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking. Morris refused field sobriety testing and later refused to provide a breath sample. He was arrested for DUI, Driving While Revoked, and Refusal to provide a breath sample, and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center. A search warrant was applied and granted for a blood draw and was executed the same day.

On April 25, 2026, Alaska State Troopers were notified that inmate Garrett Ludwig failed to return to North Star Center as scheduled and was reported as an escapee. Ludwig was located and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center and remanded for Unlawful Evasion in the First Degree.

On April 26, 2026, Alaska State Troopers received reports of a male creating a traffic hazard at the University Avenue and College Road intersection by approaching vehicles and lunging at motorcyclists. Troopers located the individual at the nearby Speedway, where he was also reported to have been inhaling from a gas cylinder. The male, identified as Kenneth Wilson, showed signs of intoxication and refused to leave the property when directed. Wilson was arrested for Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree and Disorderly Conduct and was transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

On April 17, 2026, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Marigold Road for a reported domestic violence incident that led to a DUI investigation. During the investigation, Vanessa Gilbertson arrived on scene and repeatedly approached officers despite multiple lawful commands to remain at her vehicle. Gilbertson continued to interfere and ultimately pushed a Trooper, resulting in her arrest for Disorderly Conduct. She was transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center without further incident.

On April 17, 2026, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Doyle Drive after receiving a report that a woman had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Adam Verbus. The victim reported being struck in the face and choked before fleeing to a neighbor’s home to call for help, and her injuries were consistent with her account. A witness confirmed she arrived with visible injuries, and Verbus admitted to being involved in a physical altercation. Verbus, who has a prior assault conviction involving the same victim, was arrested for Assault in the Fourth Degree and in the Third Degree.

On April 18, 2026, Troopers responded to reports of a Toyota Tundra driving erratically and later located the vehicle and its driver, identified as Norvin Dewilde, at Fred Meyer West. Dewilde exhibited multiple signs of impairment and gave inconsistent statements about who had been driving. Due to his level of intoxication, field sobriety tests could not be completed. Dewilde was arrested for DUI and later provided a breath sample of 0.209 BrAC. He was additionally charged with Driving While License Revoked. He was transported to FCC.

On 04/27/2026 Troopers received information from the North Star Center that one of Keith Hickman who was currently under their legal supervision had broken the conditions of his furlough. After being located Keith was arrested and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center without further incident. Keith Hickman was charged with Unlawful Evasion.

On 04/26/2025, A North Pole resident reported that his neighbor, Daniel Spence, assaulted him after offering to help with a stuck vehicle. The victim sustained visible injuries to his face and chest. An investigation revealed that the Daniel was the primary aggressor and charges will be sent to the district attorney's office.

On 04/23/2026 at approximately 2054 hours, the Highway Interdiction K9 Team conducted a traffic stop on a Gold Toyota Corolla near Big Lake Road. The driver was identified as Garrett Gaffney, age 33 of Houston. Investigation revealed Gaffney to have a suspended driver's license with previous convictions of Driving While License Suspended (DWLS). Gaffney was issued a criminal summons for DWLS and released from the scene.
